El Dorado Youth and Government Delegation Summer Bulletin #1 (Yes, there is a Spring/Summer Bulletin)

This is a special "spring/summer edition" of the El Dorado Youth and Government Bulletin. I will not be sending these on a regular basis, but only when I think there are things that warrant your attention. 

Bulletin Info:

1.) Summer Internships: A number of you have asked me if I know of any summer internship opportunities. As of now, I only know of one so far. It is the California Latino Capitol Association Foundation (CLCAF) summer internship program.

The internship criteria is:

1. Student must be a high school junior or senior,

2. Be available to work 15-20 hours per week for the duration of the summer internship program,

3. Student must have an interest in public policy, government, or community service; and

4. Have good academic standing, with a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.

If anyone else know of other summer internship programs, please let me know and I can send them out to the delegation.

2.) Recruit, Recruit, Recruit! This coming year we will have the majority of the delegation be graduating seniors. This means we need to try and recruit some 9th and 10th graders to join the program. If you know anyone who may be interested in the program, encourage them to join the program (especially if they are going to be in 9-10th grade!).

3.) Gold Country Half Marathon Volunteer Opportunity: The Gold Country Half Marathon is coming up soon on June 10th. Volunteers will receive 4 points towards year and our delegation will receive money for each aid station we fill. Donuts and hot chocolate will be provided! Non-Eldo delegates welcome as well.
