Don't Close the Book, Just Turn the Page
Well, we did it! The 65th ML/C is complete. What an amazing conference! Here are some highlights from our year:
Of course, the fun doesn't have to end! We're not going to lose momentum this year -we want to keep growing. So here are some dates to note:
February 27 - 65th ML/C Celebration Party! 6:30-8pm, hosted by your advisors at Christiana and Rob's house. Let's celebrate our accomplishments with dessert and our personalized delegation slide show. Parents invited! (Do you have photos from Baby Bob, Larry, Bob II, etc? Send them over for inclusion in the slide show!)
March 6 - Spring Conference meetings begin! We'll meet just a few times before Spring Conference on March 6, 13, 20 and April 3. Returning delegates must bring completed paperwork and program fees ($200) on March 6. New delegates may submit their paperwork on March 13. Find paperwork and program info here.
Summertime: We'll have some social events and fundraisers throughout the summer. Have ideas? Start jotting them down.
September 2013: Baby Bob returns! Spend a weekend in the Sierra bonding with your Capitol Coalition friends at Bear Valley Y Camp. Campfires, s'mores, songs, and fun. You don't want to miss this . . . .
November 9-11 Bob I
January 18-20, 2014 Bob II
February 13-17, 2014 66th ML/C
- A 260% increase in our delegation! (From 3 to 8, but it counts!)
- The first ever Baby Bob!
- The first - and only - Larry.
- Our delegates stepped up and took a chance by applying for:
- Committee Chair
- Undersecretary of State
- Governor's Lobbyist
- Governor's Cabinet
- Conference on National Affairs
- Youth Member of the Y&G Governing Board
- Tony will be one of 25 California delegates representing our state at CONA.
- Alex was selected Legislator of the Year in the Blue Assembly
- Sacramento Central was selected as a Delegation of Distinction - one of very few delegations to earn the honor this year!
- Check out our FB album here (don't need a FB account to view)

Y&G Delegation Bulletin - Week of November 13 (Yes, there is a meeting tomorrow!)
Well, our first and only Larry I is now in the rear-view mirror - what did we think? Your advising team is very proud of you! We thought it was a great day marked by positive attitudes, enthusiasm, and a lot of good effort from everyone in the delegation. We're especially proud of our leadership position applicants for this conference - it's not easy to put yourselves out there for a job and go through the application and interview process. Well done!
We WILL be meeting this weekend - and since it's already Tuesday that means we're meeting tomorrow, November 14, 2012. We will be meeting in the community room at the YMCA which is downstairs in the main building (no more worrying about locked gates and getting into that room in the lower parking lot, hooray!).
Bill authors need to bring copies of their final bills (all three bills).
We will be discussing program area selection and leadership/candidate application opportunities for the next conference.
We'll also be discussing our meeting schedule and agendas for upcoming meetings through the holidays, so please be sure to bring your planners/calendars!
See you all tomorrow at 6:30!

Congrats to Daija Williams - Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Sunday Magazine
Sacramento Central Delegation congratulates delegate Daija Williams on her selection as co-Editor-in-Chief of the Print Media program's Sunday Magazine. Daija continues our delegation's proud history of accepting the challenge of leadership and diving into Y&G with both feet!
