Delegation Bulletin #7: Bill Boot Camp & Volunteering

You picked a sweatshirt design! Exciting! Well, the fun doesn't stop now that we know what we'll be wearing at our first conference . . .   Here's what you need to know this week:

Here's what you need to know/do/remember:

1.) MIXED BAG SALES END THIS WEEK! Mixed Bag orders are due Wednesday. Who can beat Ariel's $600 in sales?

2.) This week's meeting: Bill Ideas - be thinking about them! Campaigns and applications; Bill Hearing Night (see #3)

3.) Bill Hearing Night will be November 6. We want to show off your hard work to the people who matter to you in your community. Please bring with you the names and addresses of people to invite to bill hearing night (your school principal? Your favorite teacher? Your student body president? Your parents?)

4.) Fundraising Letter Drafts: You can still submit one. Email it to me ASAP! (For info on the process, check out this link.

5.) PAYMENTS DUE: Another $260 payment is due on Wednesday.

6.) BILL BOOT CAMP: Will be held on SUNDAY due to popular demand. We'll meet Sunday, October 13 at 10am at the YMCA in the childcare room. Park/meet in the lower parking lot The building sign says "Child Development Center" We'll be there to meet you! More info at the meeting on Wednesday . . . .

7.) Deadlines approaching: Reminder - the deadline to apply for leadership or run for office is October 11. Advisors will need to approve your nomination/application. More info:

October 9: Regular Meeting (Bill Ideas; Break into groups; Campaign discussions; Concession sales plans; Bill Hearing Night invites)
October 13 (Sunday): Bill Boot Camp @ The Y - 10am to 1pm (Bill Development & Writing)
October 16: NO Regular Meeting (Bill groups may wish to use this time to meet; the childcare room will be available for you if you want to meet)
October 18: MANDATORY Volunteer activity at "The Kids Are Y Tasting & Benefit Auction," Masonic Temple Ballroom, downtown Sac.
October 23: Regular Meeting - Bill Drafts & Supporting Materials due
October 30: Practice Bill Hearing Night (Mandatory)
November 6: BILL HEARING NIGHT!
