Welcome to the Sac Central YMCA Delegations!

MLC Conferences

2020-2021 program info coming late-August, 2020 - Check back soon!

Delegates attend three main conference each year. The first two training conferences are held in Fresno (transportation provided).

The program culminates with the Model Legislature and Court held in Sacramento in February.  Delegates stay in a four-star, downtown hotel and put to use their skills and training during a 5 day simulated legislative and court session.

All conferences are scheduled to take advantage of 3-day weekends to minimize time away from school. Y&G is also a recognized, approved absence in the Education Code, so students cannot be penalized for attending.

Conference Attendance: Delegates are expected to attend each conference during the program year. Conferences provide valuable program information, education, and the chance for fellowship with your fellow delegates. In particular, however:
  • For T&EII (Jan): Partial attendance is not permitted except in extraordinary circumstances. Regular season sport events, meets, regular season academic club meets, finals, school projects, etc, are not extraordinary circumstances. You are expected to travel to the conference with the delegation, attend the entire conference, and travel home again with the delegation.
  • For ML/C ("Sac Conference," Feb): Partial attendance is not permitted.
Your advisor team is managing the safety of 140 people, coalition wide. It makes things more complicated for us and potentially less safe for you if we need to manage different travel schedules for different delegates. Thank you for your understanding and dedication to this program.
