Hi Gold Country! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I'm excited to welcome you back for the final two meetings of 2019. Remember, we have no meeting on 12/12, and 12/19 is the holiday party/gift exchange.
In case you hadn't heard, we're in the final hours here of #GivingTuesday - a great day to support the local nonprofits that matter most to you. We hope you'll consider supporting the YMCA so we can fulfill our promise to keep our programs accessible to all!
At the next meeting: We'll discuss RESEARCH! With the amount of information out there, knowing how to consider sources we encounter in the news, online, and even on social media can help us approach discussions in a more reasonable way. We'll also discuss our December 19 holiday party and gift exchange, and set aside a few minutes to do some Toastmastering again (by popular demand).

1.) Secret Santa Assignments and Holiday Party Prep! If you haven't told me yet the giftee you drew as a Secret Winter Wizard, please send that info to me ASAP so that I can get you the info. Also, for the holiday party, let's make it a potluck! We'll discuss who'll bring what on Thursday.
3.) California International Marathon - Sunday December 8 - 6:45am-12:30pm: It's that time of year again! Grab your mittens and get ready to stir some Nuun, this is an all-hands event! An email with aid station and event details was sent today (December 3) - look for it! It's important that arrive on time (not early and not late!).
4.) Model United Nations Family Info Night, Wednesday December 11: Do you have a middle schooler at home or in your life? We have the program for them! Join us at Emmanuel Episcopal Buck Hall, 235 S Church St (behind our weekly meeting space), Wednesday, December 10 from 6:30-8pm for a Family Information Session on the YMCA's Model United Nations program for grades 6-8. To sign up for the MUN mailing list, click here.
We'd love your help reaching out to other families in the community to encourage folks to join MUN! If you've applied to be a Secretariat, you're welcome to attend the Info Night as well.
