El Dorado Youth and Government Delegation Bulletin #16

Y
ou ask what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory however long and hard the road may be. For without victory there is no survival."

Don't forget, our El Dorado Holiday party is this Thursday! We will have the meeting in place of our normal weekly meeting.

1.) Payment Reminder: The fourth and final program payment for the year is due by December 14. Payments can be made online here (online payment instructions found here) or over the phone by calling the YMCA Front Desk at 916-452-9622 ext 0. Checks are payable to "Sacramento Central YMCA." You can also bring a check in an envelope with the delegates name on it to our holiday party.

2.) El Dorado Delegation Christmas Party Details: El Dorado's annual holiday party will be held this year at Kale's house on this Thursday! Details are below.  Wear your ugliest Christmas Sweater or Christmassy-est Pajamas, Polar Express style. Parents will be present. Advisors will be in attendance. This party is in lieu of our normal meeting. We have also invited the Capitol Coalition delegations to join us!

When: Thursday (12/13) from 6:30-8pm.
Address: 1428 Lakehills Drive, El Dorado Hills
What to bring: Food for potluck and ugly sweaters/PJs.

Hope to see you there!

3.) Chiptole Fundraiser - Bring Your Friends and Family! Our Chief Fundraising Officer, Sierra Watts, has organized a fundraiser at Chipotle to help raise money for our delegation. Make dinner a selfless act by joining our delegation for a fundraiser to support Sac Central YMCA. Come into the Chipotle on Iron Point on Tuesday Dec. 18th, show the flyer, and 33% of the proceeds will be donated to the Sac Central YMCA. Link to the flyer. Details are below.

Where: Chipotle at 2379 Iron Point Rd Ste 120 in Folsom
When: Tuesday, Dec 18th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm.
How: Show the attached flyer to the cashier and mention you are there to support the YMCA.

The more people who go and buy food, the more money that will be donated to the YMCA. So please invite your friends and family!

4.) Program Areas and Role Selection: Last Thursday, we selected our program areas for T&E 2 and Sacramento MLC. Below is a link to all of the program areas. Make sure to meet the other people in your program area!

5.) Room Assignments for T&E 2: In addition to selecting our program areas, we also selected our roommates for T&E 2 and Sacramento MLC. Below is a link to the room assignments.

REMINDERS:

Conference Attendance: We have two remaining conferences this year. Please review our conference attendance policy:
  • For T&EII (Jan 19-21): Partial attendance is not permitted except in extraordinary circumstances. Regular season sport events, meets, regular season academic club meets, finals, school projects, etc, are not extraordinary circumstances. You are expected to travel to the conference with the delegation, attend the entire conference, and travel home again with the delegation.
  • For ML/C ("Sac Conference," Feb 14-18): Partial attendance is not permitted
Your advisor team is managing the safety of 140 people, coalition wide. It makes things more complicated for us and potentially less safe for you if we need to manage different travel schedules for different delegates.

Check the website first: In addition to our bulletin, a lot of valuable information can be found at our website. Here, you'll find all past bulletinsdelegation information, a program calendar, and a link to our forms and downloads folder. Remember to check the site first - chances are you'll find answers to most of your questions.

As always, thank you for reading and I will see you on Thursday!
